To identify IA and navigation issues I wanted to solve in this redesign project I have created a sitemap of the as is state of the site. This way I can clearly see where the issues are and already start working out possible solutions.
The list of services is way too extensive and may come off as overwhelming give the number presented as a list
The services are not categorized in any way, which makes navigation and looking for a specific one cumbersome
Some of the services may not even be offered anymore, giving the visitor the wrong impression about the company
Our approach" does not quite fit the category "Resources" and also does not convey any new information
Blog and press content can also be considered "Resources" to make the main navigation more concise
Think about the order of items in the dropdown based on their importance

After I gained a clear understanding of what issues I want to address, I have scheduled a meeting with the business team to brainstorm which services we want to keep offering, how we can merge some of them and what categories we can place them into. After having a discussion and a card sorting session we have defined 3 major categories: "business development", "product builder" and "tech & data" as subpages.
Group services by 3 categories: "business development", "product builder" and "tech & data"
Create a subpage for each category to streamline navigation and only show relevant content
Add categories to the main navigation to speed up finding the services the user may be looking for
Place "Blog" and "Press" under "Resources"
Remove "Our approach" due to its redundancy and add an "About us" page
Change the order of the items in the drop-down: Whitepapers > Press & News > Blog
General drop-down redesign
