Overview

Bree is designed for helping people get their clothing items altered or repaired and save time and cost when doing it as well as supporting local tailor shops

The team

A small team of team of marketing and operations specialists, a developer, a designer and a tailoring expert from Melbourne, AU

The task

Creating a service that connects the consumer with the nearest tailor should help clients get their valuable time back and feel great in the clothes that otherwise just collect dust.

Bree aims to mitigate friction at every point of the customer journey and is designed to be a seamless and positive user experience solution to getting your clothes altered so the customer doesn't have to go to the hassle of doing it themselves

*Competitor, partner and user research has been carried out by the Bree team and provided to me during the project assessment and onboarding phase

User stories & flows

Sitemap

In the beginning we have defined the core features for the MVP and the user flows to start with. The constraints were mainly time and ressources, as well as geographical availability of the service (Melbourne city and suburbs, Australia, for the MVP).

Service request flow being the main functionality, we started from defining the order flow and building other screens on top of that

Prototyping

Low-fidelity prototypes

After I got introduced to the research results the team has collected and defined the scope for the MVP, I have sketched down the prototypes for the service order flow.I started defining componens, spacing and grid right away to save myself some time later on. I've used a 6 col grid with a 16 px margin, 16 px gutter coupled with a baseline 8 px row grid.

Refining the design

Typography & color

When picking the color scheme for the interface, we decided to stick to nature inspired hues, such as various shades of moss green and orange or light terracotta and beige.

We wanted the interface to look modern, styling and minimal, and yet give a warm feeling.

Big part of Bree's team vision is sustainability and reducing the climate impact of fashion industry by repairing and altering old items, and nothing works as well as green to convey this message.
